Vanua Levu, Fiji

After a 10 hour flight that was better than first class (the plane was half full and nearly everyone in coach got their own rows), Harry, our friends Brett and Nancy James and I landed in the hot and sultry island nation of Fiji.

Czech Republic

Prague is an interesting mix of medieval and Communist bloc. The buildings are beautiful, but with a slight grunge feeling to them. It is easy to get around on the Metro and the Tram and the people are friendly and helpful. We were also thrilled at how affordable everything was.

Turkey

We flew into the Cappadocia region of central Turkey first to enjoy the countryside and the sunshine. The small town we stayed in, Göreme, and the surrounding area is known for the strange, conical rock formations that housed caves that ancient (and modern-day) people still live in today.

Denmark & Sweden

My family is from Denmark, so Harry and I have been there several times to visit with my cousins and their children. It is nice to be able to stay with family in one of the most expensive countries in the world.

Los Cabos, Mexico

Because we wanted to stay away from the cruise ships and crowds of Cabo San Lucas, we searched around and found Cabo Pulmo, a small community and protected area about 100 miles north of Cabo San Lucas…and down a 14 mile dirt road.

Bonaire, Netherland Antilles

This was probably one of the most relaxing trips we have ever taken. We flew from Miami to Curacao and then took a eight-seater prop plane to the tiny island of Bonaire, where hardly any tourists go. We like it that way.

The Five Most Interesting Places We’ve Slept

On our travels we try to keep our sleeping accommodations a bit more interesting than your average motel or hotel room. We are always on the lookout for a new and different way to spend the night. In the future we would love to sleep in the following: a treehouse, in one of those fold out seats in First Class, in an ice hotel, and on our own boat.
